New Year's Eve Activities for Families

New Year’s Eve is not just for grownups – not even in New Orleans. Here are some fun ways to say “bienvenue” (welcome) to 2020 in NOLA with your little ones. If you play it right, you can have a great day with the kids and still get home in time to pick up the babysitter and go out on the town.

Zoo Year's Eve

Take your party animals to the Audubon Zoo for music, games, and a countdown to twelve noon. Learn more.

Cinderella’s Masquerade Ball

Celebrate the stroke of twelve Cinderella Style (without losing your shoe) at Cinderella’s Masquerade Ball. Toast 2020 at noon with Cinderella, Prince Charming and their Royal Court with dancing, brunch and drinks (champagne, mimosas and poinsettias for the adults), mask making, and an enchanting musical stage production. Come dressed in your best royal formal attire. Learn more.

New Year’s Eve Parade

End the New Year with a Mardi Gras-style parade in the French Quarter. The Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade begins at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street at 2:45 p.m. (time subject to change). Learn more.

NOLA ChristmasFest

The last day of NOLA Christmas Fest is New Year’s Eve (it will be open from 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). Take your family to the New Orleans Convention Center for indoor ice skating, ice sliding, bouncing on giant inflatables and more. Learn more.
