In New Orleans, you have several options for city tours which all offer their own stops and amenities for your child’s enjoyment. Here are four notable New Orleans tours to look into for your next trip to the city.

Super City Tour by Gray Line New Orleans

If you’re looking for a full city tour, Super City Tour by Gray Line New Orleans offers a wide range of famous and beloved New Orleans spots your kids will love. This includes everything from Jackson Square in the French Quarter to City Park and fascinating stories about voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John. You’ll travel along the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line and pass gorgeous mansions in the Garden District on your way to Tulane and Loyola Universities, located across the street from the beloved Audubon Park and Audubon Zoo. There’s even a cemetery stop on most of the tours. This 2.5-hour tour on a Gray Line bus takes place several times each day, and kids’ tickets for ages 6 to 12 are only $15 each.

City Sightseeing New Orleans

For a fun New Orleans city tour experience on an open-top double-decker bus, City Sightseeing New Orleans offers an unlimited hop-on hop-off experience, with buses passing by every 30 minutes at all stops. It offers one of the most flexible city tours in New Orleans, which means your child can enjoy all the attractions she wants to see with easy transportation around the city. Stops include the French Market, Esplanade, the National WWII Museum, Magazine St, Mardi Gras World, and many more. There are also three free walking tours, including escorted tours around the French Quarter and Garden District and a self-guided cemetery tour. Kids’ tickets for ages 3 to 12 cost only $10.

Isle of Orleans Tour by Gray Line New Orleans

Another tour by Gray Line New Orleans is the Isle of Orleans city tour, which focuses not just on the city’s history but also the effects of Hurricane Katrina, particularly around the Ninth Ward, Lakeview, and other neighborhoods damaged by the storm. But the tour doesn’t stop there, as you’ll travel around the city to neighborhoods like Faubourg Marigny, Faubourg St. John, Lakeview, and Carrollton, which some other tours don’t always visit. Attractions along the way include the house of the legendary rock ‘n’ roll pianist “Fats” Domino, the Morning Call Café or Besthoff Sculpture Garden in City Park, and Xavier University, the only historically black, Catholic university in the Western Hemisphere. This tour is a little longer than the Super City Tour at three hours, and kids’ tickets for ages 6 to 12 cost $30.

If you want your kids to take home some knowledge and experience seeing various parts of New Orleans during your stay, try any one of these New Orleans city tours, and see how your kids love absorbing the sights and culture the city has to offer!
